Dolly’s golden years haven’t been easy, but at Midway Sanctuary, they are filled with the comfort, compassion, and dignity every senior dog deserves.

At 15 years old, Dolly is one of our hospice residents and receives daily pain management to help keep her comfortable. She came to us after a kind person found her lying on the ground, looking lost, exhausted, and confused. After no one came forward to claim her during her stray hold, we welcomed her into the Midway family. While we may never know exactly how she ended up alone, we do know she’ll never have to face life by herself again.

Dolly is a quiet, gentle soul who asks for very little. Her favorite place in the world is a thick, cozy bed where she can rest her tired body in peace. Toys don’t interest her much these days. Instead, she looks forward to delicious meals, tasty dog treats, and the simple comfort of feeling safe.

She enjoys gentle affection and happily accepts love from her caregivers, but she also appreciates having her own quiet space to relax and recharge. Dolly has a calm, peaceful spirit that reminds us there is beauty in slowing down and simply being present.

Every day we have with Dolly is a gift, and we are committed to making each one as comfortable and love-filled as possible. She may be in hospice care, but her life is still full of purpose, kindness, and moments of joy.
