What kinds of animals does Midway Sanctuary help?
We primarily care for dogs and cats. Over the years, we’ve also helped a variety of other animals, including rabbits, rats, mice, chickens, ducks, and, on occasion, even a cow and a pig. Our mission is to provide rescue, sanctuary, and compassionate care for senior, hospice, and special-needs animals whenever we have the resources to do so.
How do I adopt an animal from Midway Sanctuary?
Start by browsing our Available for Adoption page. If you find an animal you’d like to learn more about, select “Inquire About Adopting” on their profile. We’ll get in touch to answer your questions, learn about your home, and ensure it’s the right match for both you and the animal.
What is the adoption fee?
Adoption fees vary depending on each animal’s age, needs, and level of care. The fee for each animal is listed on their profile.
How can I donate?
You can make a secure donation through PayPal by using the Donate buttons throughout our website. You can also support the animals by purchasing needed supplies from our Amazon Wishlist, linked in the footer. Midway Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and eligible donations are tax-deductible.
Do you take in owner surrenders?
We have limited capacity and prioritize special needs and senior animals. Contact us to explain your situation. We will do our best to help or point you toward another resource.
What medical care do animals receive before adoption?
Medical care varies by animal and their individual needs. When appropriate, animals receive vaccinations and are spayed or neutered before adoption unless otherwise recommended by a veterinarian. Available medical information will be shared with potential adopters during the adoption process.
