If you ask anyone at Midway Sanctuary about Giga, they’ll tell you the same thing: she’s one big bundle of love.

Giga came to us from our local shelter after we noticed her trembling like a leaf in her kennel. Frightened and heartbroken, she had recently lost the only home she’d ever known. When her beloved person passed away, there was no one left to care for her or her brother, Buey. We welcomed them both to Midway Sanctuary, where they could spend their senior years surrounded by love. Although Buey has since crossed the Rainbow Bridge, Giga continues to carry his memory with her.

Now 15 years old, Giga has settled into sanctuary life beautifully. She’s a gentle giant with a heart every bit as big as she is. During the cool evenings, she loves leisurely exploring the property, taking in all the sights and smells. She may not be interested in chasing a ball, but every now and then her playful side shines through as she flips her toys into the air before pouncing on them with delight.

More than anything, Giga loves being close to her people. She’s happiest when she’s snuggled up beside you, resting her head gently on your leg, a quiet reminder that she’s there, soaking up every moment of love and companionship.

After losing so much, Giga has finally found a place where she will never have to wonder if she’s safe or loved. At Midway Sanctuary, she’ll spend the rest of her days exactly as every senior dog deserves: cherished, comfortable, and surrounded by people who adore her.
