Special Needs

Panda needs continued professional training, consistency, and a stable environment as she learns to feel safe when separated from her favorite person.

Panda is a very special member of our sanctuary family, and her journey is one that reminds us why every dog deserves someone willing to see beyond their struggles.

Panda found herself at the county shelter after her beloved human passed away. Losing the person she knew and trusted was heartbreaking, and the transition was incredibly difficult for her. She was eventually adopted into another home, but because of her deep attachment to one family member, she struggled when separated from that person. Through no fault of her own, she was returned to the shelter.

After spending months waiting with no one showing interest, Panda found herself on the euthanasia list. We knew her story wasn’t over. We saw a sensitive, loving dog who needed patience, understanding, and the right environment to heal.

Panda joined our sanctuary family, where with professional training, consistency, and a lot of love, she is learning that she is safe, even when her favorite person leaves the house. As a Border Collie mix, Panda is incredibly intelligent and deeply devoted. She forms strong bonds with her humans and thrives when she feels secure and understood.

Panda is not available for adoption. She has found her forever home here at the sanctuary, where we can continue to support her needs and give her the stability she deserves.

One of the most beautiful parts of Panda’s story has been watching her friendships grow. She absolutely loves the other dogs in the home and has formed a special bond with Bronze and Pup-Pup. She enjoys running and playing on the property, soaking up the sunshine, and being part of the pack.

When she isn’t exploring or playing, Panda is happiest with a good belly rub, cozy snuggles, and time with the people and animals she trusts.

Panda’s story is a reminder that sometimes rescue isn’t about finding a dog a new home. It’s about becoming the safe place they were searching for all along.
